It is greatly beneficial to coach entire teams within an organization to yield greater cohesiveness, innovation, collaboration and trust. The following is a brief explanation of how CoachWorks® approaches Executive Team Coaching.
Individuals
The Executive Coach works with each team member to identify personality characteristics, communication styles, and career direction. Team members identify their own personal development plans and continue coaching to develop themselves fully as they work within the team. Strong emphasis is placed on their unique commitment to a learning organization and to their own professional development.
The Group
Team members are coached as a group to understand and read the styles, needs and value of other team members. They learn to easily adapt communication so that a highly functioning team is able to work at a much more effective level than before the intervention.
Processes
Replicable processes, like the Collaborative Conversation Model™, are put in place to streamline discussions, decision making, creativity and innovation. Such processes can then be passed on to (utilized with) the direct reports of team members.
The team leader is coached to delegate projects that will enhance the learning and development of his/her team members. The leader also learns to be a strong coach/facilitator of team interactions so that team members can model the behavior in other areas of the organization. The Executive Coach creates the environment of trust so that collaboration and innovation can grow. As a result, creative ideas come more readily, with team members contributing from their unique perspectives.
During the coaching period, the Executive Coach facilitates and coaches team meetings, trains the processes, and encourages enhanced contribution to the team outcomes.
Training
Leadership Training expands the abilities of team members to be ready to perform at higher levels. Legacy Leadership, a leadership model developed and used by CoachWorks®, is based upon 5 core competency platforms (the 5 Best Practices) for successful leadership. This model includes those practices (attitudes, behaviors and competencies) that are essential for every leader, regardless of their industry or level within the organization. These competency platforms are critical to the growth of teams, and serve as the foundation for everything they do.
Progress
Tracking Progress: Regular calibration of progress is conducted to determine if desired outcomes are being reached. Quarterly Executive Summaries can be developed, if desired.
